Today at 3:00 PM—the hour of mercy—we will have a Holy Hour of DivineMercy. We will pray the Divine Mercy chaplet, Novena, and receive Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament. All are encouraged and welcomed to attend.
The point of the devotion is mercy -- begging God’s mercy, trusting in His mercy, and showing mercy to those around us. In 2000, Pope St. John Paul II made it known that this Sunday, a day when the Gospel reading concerns Christ's merciful institution of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, will also be known as "Divine Mercy Sunday."
We are certainly living at a desperate time in our world; we need the Mercy of God to shower down upon us and on the whole world and we all need to pray for a return, as a world, back to God through prayer and penance. Please make every effort to return this afternoon at 3:00 PM, the Hour of Mercy.
Again this year, I would like to thank all those who made the ceremonies of Holy Week so beautiful and most importantly, prayerful.
I would like to welcome into God’s family and Church: Cleiford Mario Senra and Andrea Nyriri for saying yes to God’s invitation to faith. Cleiford was baptized at the Easter Vigil by his former teacher: Fr. Clarke; Andrea was brought into the fullness of the Catholic Faith with her profession of faith.
We congratulate the following who continued to grow in faith through Confirmation: Cooper Makowski, Bailey McNamara, Lyndsey O’Hare, Adelaida Ortega, Toni Ann Ramunno, Kevin Strunk, Tim and TomVictor.
You reawaken in us our own gift of faith that was given on the day of our baptism, confirmed and nourished through the Sacraments of Initiation.
I wish to thank you, the parishioners and visitors of St. Margaret’s for your presence during Holy Week and Easter Day with your inspiration of faith and prayer.
Let us continue to celebrate and walk together in the glory of Easter!
