During January, we hear about the state of our town, state, country, and only the pope can give the state of the world. In the spirit of the State of the Parish, I wish to publish the financial statement for 2020-2021. A reminder our fiscal year begins on 1 September and ends on 31 August. In spite of the pandemic we were only $4,583 in deficit. An amazing accomplishment and shows how good you are, that through the difficulties, you still contributed to your parish.
Annual Financial Report 1 September 2020 – 31 August 2021
Notes: 1. We brought in $78,262 less income than the year before 2019-2020 2. We didn’t have the $10,000 Parishioner Only Raffle last year in fundraising 3. We received PPP1 (Paycheck Protection Plan) forgiveness income as well as CYO income 4. Repairs and maintenance included COVID related expenses, landscaping, snow removal etc.
Some of the projects we accomplished: 1. Painting of the trim work on the Church. 2. Lighting of the Western wall stained glass windows. After consultation with the window company, we have redesigned the project. The stained glass windows will be fully illuminated by a full panel of small LED lights with a dimmer. The windows will be fully encased and hinged for the future, in case someone needs to get to the light panel. 3. All new LED lights for the outside of the school and church buildings.

What an Accomplishment The generosity of St. Margaret’s parishioners is international. Over the years, one of our most dedicated parishioners, Maria Dowling spearheaded a project called, The Angel Project. The aim was to build a day-care school building in Ghana. Through Maria’s herculean efforts, and the Christian charity of St. Margaret’s parishioners, school children and the school community, the building is now completed. As you can see from the letter on page 4, the local bishop has named the school after us: St. Margaret of Antioch. God will certainly bless you all, and this is what being Catholic means-universal. We take care of all of God’s people no matter where they live. Thank you to Maria Dowling, and thank you to all of St. Margaret’s family.
