Saluto cordiamente cari parocchiani. Buona e santa Pasqua a tutti!
¡ Saludo a los feligrés de lengua española. Feliz Pascua de Resurrección!
I Warmly Welcome All on this Easter Sunday!
This is the greatest day of the year, and the joy of Easter lasts for 50 days.
“Let all then enter the joy of Our Lord!” St. John Chrysostom, an early Church Father, announces in his famous Easter sermon, all are invited to the feast.
What is the cause of such joy? Sin and death have been conquered; God will always have the final word and the final victory. The risen Jesus is the final revelation of God, Who teaches love rather than hate, forgiveness rather than cancel or revenge, hope rather than despair. We have a God who does not blame, does not punish, does not threaten, and does not get even. We have a God who breathes His Spirit: forgiveness and peace, the gifts of Easter.
This wonderful feast is our hope and joy. It is because of the feast that we can wake up each morning joyfully, knowing that even at life’s most difficult moments, our God in the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, was there before us and knows the experience. For the worst has happened, but it has been restored; and all will be well.
So Rejoice, for this is the Day the Lord has made:
Jesus Christ is Risen from the Dead;
He is truly Risen, Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
We thank the Easter Bunny who stopped by and dropped off over 500 Easter eggs for our children to find today. I would like to thank the Easter Bunny and his helpers who taught our children about sharing eggs and the beauty of new life.
